Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and share the information you give us — and how to make us stop.
What we collect
We collect the information you type into our forms: first name, last name, email address, ZIP code, phone number, any volunteer interests you select, and the content of any message you send us. When you check the consent box we also record the exact consent language shown to you, the time you agreed, your IP address, and your browser user agent — because the law requires us to be able to prove that consent was given.
Our web server records ordinary request information such as IP address and user agent. We do not run third-party advertising or analytics trackers on this site.
What we do with it
- Send you updates about the committee’s work, by email and by text message.
- Ask you to volunteer or to contribute.
- Match volunteers to programmes near them, using your ZIP code.
- Answer the messages you send us.
- Meet our reporting obligations to the Federal Election Commission.
Text messages and calls
If you gave us a phone number and checked the consent box, you agreed to receive calls and text messages, including automated ones, at that number. Consent is not a condition of any purchase or donation. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. Opting out of texts does not remove you from our email list, and vice versa.
Who we share it with
We share personal information with vendors who work on our behalf — email and SMS providers, hosting providers, and our compliance counsel — under contracts that limit what they may do with it. We share information with law enforcement or regulators where we are legally required to. Contributions are reported to the Federal Election Commission as federal law requires, and those reports are public records.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from email using the link at the bottom of any message.
- Reply STOP to any text message to stop texts.
- Write to info@cvgpac.com to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it. Some records — contribution records in particular — we are legally required to keep.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, write to info@cvgpac.com and we will delete it.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, but no method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We do not process card payments on this site — contributions are made by wire transfer through the donor’s own bank.
Changes
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top. If the change is material, we will say so.
